MEMBERSHIP

Have you thought about joining the City Livery Yacht Club?

The City Livery Yacht Club offers sailing, boating and socialising opportunities to its members, even those who are just interested in 'messing about in boats' or who just like to meet and chat about their boating experiences. In fact not all members cruise or sail, nor do all members have boats. So whether you are an absolute novice or an experienced racer, cruiser, sailor or motor yachtsman, why not join now?

The membership benefits include:

  • A plethora of sailing, boating and socialising opportunities, including an annual rally at Cowes each May and one on the East Coast each June/July
  • Exclusively for members (both Liverymen and Freemen) of Livery Companies
  • Enjoyment of a full social calendar of distinguished and prestigious events
  • Entitlement to wear the Club's exclusive tie and mess dress. The mess dress is individually tailored at Baun and Co, 14 Queen Street, Portsmouth PO1 3HL; tel: 02392 822045
  • to fly a Defaced Blue Ensign from your boat
  • a pocket size club handbook, including rules and membership directory
  • A range of clothing with the City Livery Yacht Club logo, supplied by Rainbow Copy in Lymington (see www.rainbowcopy.co.uk).

All for a modest annual membership fee of just £35, after an initial joining fee of £35. Contact:

A new, silk, tie is now available from Janet. This is a rather more modern design than the previous one and costs just £10 including post and packing.

Members may now purchase a braid badge, which can be used on blazers or tote bags (or anywhere else that takes your fancy).
It comes with three pins at the back, so does not have to be fixed permanently, and costs £16. Badges are available from Janet Walker, the Club Secretary.
