The rejuvenated Association of Thames Yacht Clubs (ATYC), under the Chairmanship of Chris Turner, invited the expected Commodores and Secretaries for 2008 to a special 'Get the ATYC habit' supper at the Thames Motor Yacht Club on 13 November. This was attended by Norman Woolley, Flag Officer, CLYC Thames Section, and Julie, with Peta Walmisley, as anticipated CLYC Commodore, and Dr Michael Kearsley.

| The purpose of the evening was to encourage member clubs (of which there were 27 represented) to publicise the work and events of the ATYC to their members. As well as having presentations by officers of the ATYC, we also heard reports by Eileen McKeever of the Environmental Agency, Harbour Master for the Upper Thames, and David Snelson of the Port of London Authority, Harbour Master for the Lower Thames.
Chris Turner, in his welcome and introduction, asked that we 'act as messengers in bringing knowledge of the work of the Association to your fellow club members who may not be fully aware of what we are and are doing on their behalf.' He hoped that many of our members would support the ATYC meetings, Annual Dance and Rally, details of which will appear on the Events page of this website.
